This thermometer measures temperature. It will not directly tell you if someone has Swine Flu, but it will you monitor your and others' temperatures to be on the look out for high temperatures and fever.
If I use this IR thermometer to take someone's temperature, will they feel anything?
No, absolutely nothing. They will not even know you are taking their temperature.
Is this thermometer safe?
Yes. This thermometer uses infrared to read temperatures, which is perfectly safe. Just make sure that you don't shine the laser into anyone's eye! If you want to measure the temperature of someone's eye, please use a different device.

Dear Ankaka: I received my infrared thermometer gun with red laser today in excellent condition. I was surprised that you sent it to me by Registered Mail. That's very expensive and slightly slower than International Priority Mail with Insurance or International Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. Those are the 2 ways most other foreign merchants send their goods to their customers in the U.S. ° I'm very pleased with the quality of my new, yellow, infrared laser thermometer gun with red laser: http://www.ankaka.com/infrared-digital-thermometer-gun-with-laser-sight-non-contact-infrared-thermometer_p412.html My American-made infrared thermometer gun with red laser (Cen-Tech brand) is twice as expensive and keeps forcing me to press the F°/C° button each time I use it. My Ankaka infrared thermometer gun with red laser requires me to press the F°/C° button only once and never again during my entire life (because I only want to see C° to measure my cooking temperatures. I never want to see F°). Also, the red laser on button only needs to be pressed once on my Ankaka thermometer. I never will need to press that button again during my entire life. But on my Cen-Tech thermometer, I need to press the red laser on button each time I use the thermometer to turn the red laser back on. Ankaka is much better! Sincerely, Ronald M.
